DOUG

Just informing everyone that Doug, our nice tree, is doing well. He got a little dried up from the heater in one small spot, but now that the vent is shut- he seems to be thriving. We are having open houses anytime you want to see him. We have an award winning 10 ornaments and no tree topper. it really is worth looking at. Aren't the holidays glorious...

christmas prep

Well, Thanksgiving was great and now that it is over--it's time for christmas!!! we got a tree yesterday, and you know what the best part about setting up a live tree as newlyweds is?? clipping the big ol' branches with pliers because we have no yard supplies. it's cool because the little pieces of branches go flying across the room as you finally cut through the other side and your fingers are exploding becasue you have to squeeze the pliars so hard. you see, pliars are not meant to cut tree branches. they are built for wire. So we put colorful lights all over and 10 ornaments, which are mostly cowboy. oh, by the way, our trees name is Doug and he drinks a lot of water. Good tree, he know's it's good to drink water. anyway, we even have a beautiful tree skirt with presents on top. Lovely, Happy holidays

what to do in new york city-

Hello,

You know what you should do in New York City? Climb to the top of time square and sing all the songs of the Phantom of the Opera....and THEN go to the Bronx for pizza.

hasta la vista, baby.

poor joshua

YOU KNOW HOW THERE ARE SCARY THINGS THAT COME OUT AT NIGHT LIKE WHEREWOLVES? well, I am like one of those...when i have a test coming up. Because? I have stress like everyone else, I just turn into a monster by allergic reaction. Stress pumps through my veins and after a couple of hours I grow harmful fangs that spit venomous frustrations and my claws want to tear my books to pieces. Luckily, it goes away after my blood cools down.

This is a WARNING....
People who are allergic to stress turn into monsters just like wherewolves get scary only at night time. it's really true. all these things do exist. you just don't know it until you marry one.

ODE TO THE DOLLAR TREE

if only money grew on trees. well, when you go to the dollar tree- it feels like money grows on trees. you know why??? HELLO! it's just so cheap...i mean EVERY single thing is only a dollar. holller.
anyway, i believe they are the best place to go for wrapping paper, and vases, and all sorts of things. sometimes it's a little scary...please don't judge becasue of what i just said. it's just that it's kind of a rough parking lot in town ya know? so lock your doors and see your money falling off trees...and going into the dollar tree cash drawer :)

heartless

"How could you be so heartless?" okay, so i have NO idea who sings that song...but for the last hour or so, while i'm tediously doing nutrition homework, those words have been running through my head. i shouldn't say those words- that single phrase, over and over, in the tune of the song ...hahah i think it's funny. where do these things come from.

happy day.

WHO WOULDA THUNK

so....today, if you haven't noticed, is the first U of U football game. at 2:00 i left school and there were CARS EVERYWHERE tailgaiting!! what?! at 2? i mean, we are fans, but it's hot out and i have things to do. josh and i have been talking all afternoon as to how to get me to school. (josh has class till 7:30 so he's already there) am i going to ride my bike? i don't want to take my car and get stuck in traffic? and i don't want to get smooshed on my bike. i also don't want to walk. or get a ride from a stranger. so instead i am going to walk to the bus stop and hope the bus comes to get me and take me to the right place...oh boy. AND you can't take water in there so i am going to take some icy cold water in my nifty nalgene, then dump it out so i can then refill it with probably luke warm water out of a NASTY drinking fountain used by MILLIONS AND TRILLIONS of people. yuck.

ANYWAY, go utes.

NEATO

put your knees on the door...

so so so, we went to the olympic sports park this day and it was cool. way cool actually. because we got to do some cool stuff- that's why it was cool.

ANYWAY
we got to do 2 zip lines...never done that before. then we got to do the alpine slide. to get to the zip lines you take a slow chair lift up the mountain side...which is scattered with chipmunks, or suirrels or a blend of both...and you get to the top. THEN you harness in to these little seats that look like those foldy chairs you bring to high school volleyball games.. ya know? so the hard wood doesn't hurt your fanny as much. well you strap into those and the guys say "put your knees on the door". the metal swing door that releases you into openness is right in front of you and you just rest up against it waiting to be released. so crazy because what if the door swings open and your not hooked in and you DIE??? i mean, my stomach was going a teensy bit crazy. well a lot crazy. i was sweating. and excited. so he says ready everyone?? well, i suppose. and they count down 3,2,1..except when he said three he opened the little doors. i guess we were 100 feet above the ground at least at points and we started zipping down. funny how they call it a zip line because you definitely zip your way down...going FAST FAST FAST! it was quite fun i just would love to go again.

hmmm..well, i have nothing else to say.
zip zip hooray!

diets diets diets... ARE STUPID!!!!!

oh geeze, so i'm really interested in telling people to be active and healthy. it doesn't mean you can't eat some ice cream. it just means that going on a walk or a jog or a bike ride is extremely healthy for you vs. not participating in activity. i just think moving around is good for you. I'm starting school again and it reminds me how much i enjoy learning and teaching other poeple how to be heathy.

anyway, there is this new HCG diet...as far as i'm concerned, it includes being injected with a hormone that is present during pregnancy. if that doesn't sound stupid enough, you can only eat 500 calories a day. AND its expensive. I wish there were people who wouldn't promote these types of things. i mean really?? does this really seem good?

I hope people don't die

regarding the photo

Yes i know, this photo looks like we found it online somewhere i agree. but no. josh took it. we were in Idaho riding horses for a week and this kind of epitomized the entire place. it is breathtakingly pretty and green all over the place. the sky was amazing. i wouldn't mind having a second home there...maybe this one. we thought it'd fit us nicely as it wouldn't cost too much to live in. actually i am the only one who has considered living there, haven't spoken to josh about it but i don't understand how he would object. it's close to the freeway and farms are all over so we'd have fresh food daily I'm sure. we'll have to discuss it. I'm beginning to convince myself that this would be a great idea. except that there isn't much to live in- just some old boards and ivy. but it's pretty. when you get our new address letter it may just say "home on side of freeway" but you won't be able to miss it. we would post a danger sign so you would know it's us or something. the danger sign would also be able to warn you not to fall through the baseboards.

okay bye.

walking to the park...far far away

today i'm at a fantastic job...nannying two great boys. i was a little ambitious in saying we should head to sugarhouse park for the morning. we trekked along happily and fine...one on his bike and the other in the single stroller that i was pushing. we get to the park and arrive at the hillside...it's tall grass and fairly steep. right at this moment i thought- nice, what on earth was i thinking. so the boys head off and i'm stuck pulling the bike and pushing the stroller through thick grass DOWN a hillside. i'm sure all the mothers with their kids were staring at us thinking "poor things, they have no car, and that lady really doesn't know what she's doing wobbling those stroller and bikes all around the grass". it turned out fine. we played for maybe 20 minutes then headed back on our trek home. i really felt like i was a pioneer encouraging the boys every step of the way. at one point i was pushing the bike, holding a two year old and wondering how to push the stroller. it really was like arriving at the salt lake valley i'm sure...just like it! well, maybe not quite. but next time, i'm pretty sure we'll be driving. phew!

and here we are...

So, this morning our toilet overflowed, i plunged till my hands were burning and i got a little blister, then every time i plunged, black water was pumping up into our shower. THEN, i started some laundry and our shower filled with black water, and our sink filled with water almost to the brim, oh and our toilet filled up again with dirty water...hmmmm

i'm really hoping these benjamin franklin people know what they are doing. with a name like benjamin franklin plumbing how could they not. after all, it's the smartest plumbing business name i've heard of.

oh boy.
