walking to the park...far far away
today i'm at a fantastic job...nannying two great boys. i was a little ambitious in saying we should head to sugarhouse park for the morning. we trekked along happily and fine...one on his bike and the other in the single stroller that i was pushing. we get to the park and arrive at the hillside...it's tall grass and fairly steep. right at this moment i thought- nice, what on earth was i thinking. so the boys head off and i'm stuck pulling the bike and pushing the stroller through thick grass DOWN a hillside. i'm sure all the mothers with their kids were staring at us thinking "poor things, they have no car, and that lady really doesn't know what she's doing wobbling those stroller and bikes all around the grass". it turned out fine. we played for maybe 20 minutes then headed back on our trek home. i really felt like i was a pioneer encouraging the boys every step of the way. at one point i was pushing the bike, holding a two year old and wondering how to push the stroller. it really was like arriving at the salt lake valley i'm sure...just like it! well, maybe not quite. but next time, i'm pretty sure we'll be driving. phew!
