clippers
finally, there is something decent for me to add to this blog. it's getting lonely but it's relatively easy for me to not think about it too much.
The other night was a bit windy, really windy, windy enough for leaves to be EVERYWHERE the next morning. Before dawn, at approximately 2am, I awoke to Josh leaning out our bedroom window with our heavy duty bush clippers...Apparently the scratching of the branches against the window all night was too much to bear. kind of like nails on a chalkboard but I was able to sleep through it. Josh has very keen hearing so it was different for him I guess. So, he got up, went to the garage, got our clippers, removed the screen, and clipped away. I was pretty confused to say the least. I was half asleep and I remember telling him not to get sap on the floor. I was partly dreaming that he was dragging branches into our house and leaving them on the floor. he told me these kinds of branches don't have sap. phew! He never brought any branches inside in the first place.
Naturally, we spent saturday doing yard work...including aggressive trimming of our bushes.

time
i am starting to believe that my time is spent most wisely when i am with family and friends, and especially with friends. for some reason, friends fulfil something inside of us that can't be filled with even our closest family members....they fill something that friends can't fill too. being in the mountains this weekend with some truly great friends had me feeling true joy several different times. i feel like true friends cheer you on, support you in your stresses and desires, and listen to you tell dumb stories. and being a true friend allows you the opportunity to reciprocate the same things- you get to cheer people on, celebrate their successes, and share their sorrows. I know I will always be friends with these people because we all share the same desire to care for each other and enjoy the time we find to spend together. i cherish the time we had, it was as though time slowed down so we could get a real chance to enjoy the company.
it makes me glad.
it makes me glad.

a day in the life of a wranglerette
Howdy. I'm a wranglerette...and let me tell you this job is full of poo. Truly, horses poo a lot. It starts out with about an hour of catching horses, which isn't so bad. Then you tie them up. Then you saddle them and put a bridle in their mouth. Some like to fight really hard and some take their bit as though they are willing to admit that being ridden is much more exciting then standing around waiting to be ridden so they aren't going to argue. I forgot too mention that in between each step you sweat a liter....that makes everything even more cozy. It is a great way to stretch out your jeans so they are nice and pliable when you're ready to saddle up. The good part comes when you ride through gorgeous country full of thick green everything. Even the aspen trees are thick. Life is good as a wranglerette. Especially when you get to do this process twice a day. Showers never seemed so good. And who's going to complain when every meal is prepared for you?

the end of the world due to killer bees
hello. it's been a long time, so long that a lot has happened. namely, our lawn has already been mowed 4 times or more. this means many days have gone by. it's still raining though, so you may think it's still 3 weeks ago and that we keep reliving everyday over again. this is not true, our global climate is just going beserk.
speaking of crazy stuff, we were at a bbq and suddenly a mob of bees were buzzing so loud that when i looked up, i said "woah" in a soft, almost whisper which proves that is was truly a sight to see. then we were all waiting for someone to say "get inside!". man, the second we got that cue it was a mad dash for survival. no one cared about the other, it was purely the concept of self-preservation, NOT preserve your loved ones. hahaha
