the latest

so much is going on, but at the same time i feel like we've just been doing the same old for forever.

we've been having party after party, and if you know me, i'm in heaven.
first, a shower for Alyssa...so excited for her and mike's baby girl to arrive. we wish them health and wellness for a long and happy time with this new baby.
second, a shower for Jade and we are equally anxious to meet their baby boy pretty soon after alyssa. it's an exciting time within our friend group!

next, a super fabulous halloween party because we are lucky to have great friends who come. i think i will say this over and over forever..but i believe we have been blessed with incredible friends. i am not certain why, sometimes i wonder if we will go through an extraordinary hardship and will need all these friends for support or something. but that's kind of a dark thought but i suppose i almost feel guilty to have so many special people in my life...not that other people don't have friends.
it's hard for me to articulate nearly every thought i have.

basically, i'm grateful very much for my friends.

oakley is still a good dog. we got a heating pad for his house but he didn't like it. so now we have a door on it which seems to keep him nice and warm at night. these nights are chilly.
we have to figure out what on earth to do with him during thanksgiving break.

missy's crispy's is now an LLC and business is going grand this halloween season. It's been an exciting one. We will see where it is in a year or so...probably the same place it is now. it's fun nonetheless.

we took some family photos which has never legitimately happened before. thanks to jessica johnson, our sister in law for doing them for us. i'm pleased with the outcome!

we are welcoming the winter except for the deep darkness of every morning. it's terribly difficult to wake up. but it's fun. the big snow storm the other day was fun!!!

weather

 we went to a cabin at Alta...so beautiful. great friends.

 the summer concert series up at deer valley, i'd consider being season ticket holders as it is one of the most joyous things we've done this summer. the setting is gorgeous, incredible music, beautiful weather. how often do you sit on the slopes of a ski resort and listen to your symphony perform...so awesome.

grandma came to town. we are so much alike it makes me really giddy inside. we both love to look up the weather often. for some reason i just love to have an idea of what the weather might bring. don't ask me why. perhaps because my phone shows the conditions when i turn it on. if it's raining, rain drops show up on the screen...of course i think that sort of thing is extra cool...

anywho. summer has treated us well so far. this weekend i'll be working up at swiss days to help miss madi sell her amazing button jewelry. come visit us and help make it a success!

update

we've been having a lot of adventure with Oakley...he is a most wonderful dog and is very well behaved for a 4 month old pup. He is cuter than ever and is becoming a horse-dog. We went on a great ride with him for his very first time and he was awesome. So awesome, that Josh and I are even more excited to have him knowing he already is great with the horses. He got stepped on...and luckily was fine. Now he knows his boundaries are really stays clear of their legs. It has been an adventure and a lot of fun. We're trying to spend lots of time up the canyons at our own cabins, other peoples cabins, trails, and whatever else can bring us outside. July has been great...nothing beats summer (except my new skis that are waiting for me).

raccoon eyeballs

hi, nothing like having a Wednesday off with josh, heading up to the mountains, and coming back as a raccoon.....completely FRIED FACE! hello. haven't seen the sun in who knows how long because even in the summer i work in a deep, dark, basement. hmf. maybe it's my vitamin d deficiency reminding me that i'm deficient. i got enough for like.. 2 days. anyway, it has naturally inspired me to think of missy's crispy's which are going very well actually. i'm looking for people to follow the blog though, will you!? come on. it's easy. seriously. and who doesn't love rice crispy treats. if you're my friend i know you love them because they get devoured everywhere i make them. it's true. and i'm not being prideful, it's actually something i can't help. it's just happened over time which has led to me going forward and hoping to make it into a REAL live business.  keeping my fingers crossed that it works out smoothly.

president's day

today is presidents day. we briefly mentioned it and went on our way being glad we hardly had to work...instead, we headed to God's country and x-country skied in the GORGEOUS sunny weather on a blanket of (oldish) snow. it was LOVELY. deer everywhere...our old footprints from when we hiked a few days ago and a lot of great quality time with danger. I was skiing down this hill, kinda steep for me on xx skies, but was loving it. screaming with excitement the whole way down. josh was filming me. i crashed at the end and there is very distinct proof of me going from very happy to very freaking out...my knee was all tweaked and it was getting tugged in the wrong direction and it was making me nervous so i was screaming frantically so josh would rush to me..sometimes i'm still laughing so i have to be extra dramatic to make sure he knows. oh, he knew alright because it sounded like i was dying. luckily he stopped the recording asap so as to not embarrass us when we later view it. hahahahahahahahhahahahha when he came dashing to me it was super funny. like a guy running in flippers but 4 times the length and no poles and a camera in hand and a look on his face like he is trying to take the situation seriously but when you see it on replay on the video, it's totally and absolutely pathetic. i swear it was crazier then it looks...i swear it.

go ahead laugh. it's funny right. yup, when it's not you of course it's funny. i'm used to it though so i laugh too. hahahahahaha

happy birthday dear presidents...just another excuse to get outside :)

twenty-five

I am turning 25 in a week...and I am actually really excited about it. I keep thinking to myself that 25 will be a really great year...I just have a feeling it will be good. but then i worry that i'll jinx myself instead and it's going to turn out to be a disaster...but i don't want that. so i'm not sure what to think. i'm just going to wish myself a good year. i have been thinking about all the good memories i have from school years, sports, college, friends, and everything that makes me happy. sometimes i start to think about all the hard times and i realize there are as many of those as good times almost...but how surprising it is to think of the happy things and you don't realize there were ever any struggles. it proves that thinking positively can make your life happy and good. so here's to preparing for a really great 25th year (or is it really my 26th year?) hmm.

i'm starting it off by being really productive all week..doing something every night after work that i want to get done. hoping it will last more than a day. hopefully i'll actually have something funny to write on here.
